Cortland International has appointed TECH Tackle as the exclusive distributor of all Cortland products for Argentina. The agreement is the latest step in Cortland’s strategy to develop its global market share.
Formed 18 months ago, Cortland International is a joint venture between the Cortland Line Company and Jarvis Walker, Australia’s largest fishing tackle distributor. The business has responsibility for marketing Cortland products worldwide, with the exception of the US and Canada.
Trevor Maundrell, Cortland International Director and Managing Director of Jarvis Walker, said that Argentina is an exciting market for the future growth of the Cortland brand, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year.
“We believe our range of products, combined with our new strategic alliance with TECH Tackle, will create new opportunities,” added Maundrell. “As Cortland looks forward to the next 100 years, we recognise the importance of developing our global market share.
“The TECH Tackle staff has a great passion for fly fishing and Cortland products and we look forward to working with them to achieve success, growth and improved consumer access to Cortland products in Argentina.”
TECH Tackle owner, Juan Pablo Gozio, commented: “When I started fly fishing in 1985, having a Cortland line was almost mandatory in Argentina. The brand has a great history and we are proud and excited to add its products to our offer.”
The new agreement comes months after Cortland International appointed German manufacturer World Fishing Tackle sole distributor of Cortland products in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and Wiggler AB as distributor for the Scandinavian countries.
Cortland recently announced changes to its management structure which, says President Randy Brown, will mean further investment and a greater focus on implementing strategy.
