Changes at Costa Sunglasses and Tycoon Tackle

Costa Sunglasses has announced a successor to Ed Moody, who will be retiring in March after 23 years with the company.
The Daytona Beach, Florida business says that John Sanchez will work alongside Moody in the same Vice President role until the latter retires at the beginning of April. A former Vice President of Zeal Optics, Sanchez has more than 23 years of experience in eyewear manufacturing and sales with brands that include Maui Jim, Serengeti, Bolle’ and at Bausch & Lomb with Ray-Ban.
Moody announced his retirement last month. In addition to his current role with Costa, which he has held since 2005, Moody worked as Vice President of Operations from 1993 to 1997, Vice President of Sales (1992-1993) and Executive Vice President (1997-2005).
He played a large role in the company’s growth and expansion and is credited with bringing Costa’s 580™ colour enhancing lens technology to market.
“Ed may have announced his retirement from Costa, but he will always be part of our family and a key part of our brand’s legacy,” said Chas MacDonald, President of Costa. “John is a worthy candidate to step into Ed’s role, with an incredible background in our industry. He and Ed will work closely together in the coming months to ensure a smooth transition.”
• Christopher Reilly has been named as National Sales Manager for the Tycoon Tackle Fly Fishing Division.
He will have the responsibility of further developing the agent network and promoting sales of its fly fishing line. He will be based in the Northeast United States.
