German manufacturer, Carplounge, has introduced a new autopilot system to enhance the performance of its bait boats.
Autopilot is a control concept exclusive to Carplounge and is the result of three years of testing and fine-tuning.
“Without doubt this system is a revolution when it comes to bait boat technology. All the functions are easy to use and control,” says Carplounge.
The Autopilot replaces the bait boat’s normal remote control system, using instead an Android tablet/phone. The necessary software can be downloaded for free from the Google Playstore and supports every Android device with a Bluetooth interface
The tablet connects via Bluetooth to the bait boat’s transmitter box and gives complete control through an intuitive touchscreen interface. The boat is controlled through a touchpad, although there is an option to incorporate a joystick.
Position, course and direction are mapped in real time and good spots can be saved and named as geolocations. The Autopilot mode then offers to combine these spots with the boat’s various actions, such as opening the hopper doors, and operations can be processed fully automatically. An almost infinite amount of locations and routes can be stored, says Carplounge.
Tilt and acceleration sensors combine with leading-edge GPS and compass technology to provide precise control. An accuracy of less than 30cm can be achieved in over 90% of all GPS receiving conditions.
The Autopilot comes with a Bluetooth transmitter box with tripod, a 12v LiIon accumulator and charger, a SensorSystem box with mounting and an antenna and cable.
It is currently being offered to RT4 bait boat customers. An adapted version for RT3 model customers will be available soon.
