Bravo to expand availability of US ice fishing tackle

Bravo Fishing’s Mormyshka line of lures will be more readily available in Europe.

Products used by the US national ice fishing team will be available in more European countries in the near future.

Bravo Fishing is based in Latvia and specialises in the manufacture of ice fishing jigs, with Akara being its best known brand. The company has strong sales in America and eastern Europe and is now planning to grow it presence elsewhere on the Continent.

Bravo returned to the EFTTEX trade show this year after an absence of ten years to help expand its sales network.

“We went back to the show in Budapest because we want to grow sales across a broader European market. Interest is growing in ice fishing and we want to be in more countries,” explained Sales Manager Peter Plosky.

“We saw a lot of interested people at the show, with a particularly high interest from Scandinavia. Our aim is to have one seller in each country to allow us to make bigger orders.

“Our tungsten jig range is our most popular product. We use high quality tungsten and Japanese hooks.”

Bravo’s business has traditionally been in its Mormyshka line of lures, but it also makes ice fishing rods, silicon baits and packages that customers can brand with their own name. In addition, it is looking at the possibility of expanding into the conventional lure market.

The company, which attends the two big Moscow fishing shows each year, is almost 20 years old and makes all of its products in Latvia.
