A big year with some very significant product introductions – that’s how fly fishing manufacturer Umpqua Feather Merchants describes 2015 as it prepares for this month’s IFTD trade show.
The Colorado company is turning up the volume on bags, packs and vests and is also introducing several new leaders, tools, floatants and more at the Orange County Convention Centre.
On the fly front, Umpqua will not only be showing its 2016 class of flies designed by some of the industry’s elite tyers – Craven, Morrish, Beck, Zimmerman and Mathews – but also some fresh and exciting patterns from innovative designers new to the Umpqua roster.
Umpqua also says it is ‘jumping with both feet’ into the world of Tenkara. It has produced 17 news flies, many of them created by its Tenkara expert, Craig Mathews. These will be available as single flies, as well as being offered as the Umpqua Signature Deluxe Tenkara Selection and Umpqua Premium Tenkara Selection.
