One of North America’s largest distributors of fishing tackle has introduced a new app that enables its customers to order products with their mobile devices.
Hailed as a development that with ‘revolutionise’ ordering, the app from Big Rock Sports uses the built-in camera on mobile phones and tablets to scan UPC codes and back tags.
By using the app, retailers can walk through their store and scan the codes. They can then build a cart and place an order with Big Rock Sports that can be sent directly from their mobile device. The app, which syncs to the company’s full inventory, does not require internet access to use.
“The new mobile app is going to revolutionise ordering for all Big Rock customers,” said Rob Gensorek, owner of Basin Tackle, in Charleston, OR. “It has mitigated the need for a standalone ordering scanner. No longer will back tags have to be taken off the wall and carried up to the main computer. Big Rock just saved us time and increased our accuracy.”
The app works on both Apple and Android devices. It is also simple for users to navigate thanks to a design that is similar to Big Rock’s website.
“We wanted to save customers time and effort,” said Mitch Mitchell, Vice President of Marketing and Customer Experience at Big Rock Sports. “The app will drastically cut the amount of time it takes to re-stock their stores. In addition, customers can also receive some great app-only promotions and specials that we have planned.”
Big Rock customers can find the app through Google Play or the App Store. To download, they should search for Big Rock Sports and choose the ‘Shopping’ app. Once it is downloaded, they will need to choose the corresponding country flag. Login requires a Big Rock Sports username and password.
