Bass Pro Shops to reveal stores of the future

The first tangible result of the merger of Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s will be revealed in Arkansas during the coming months.
Bass Pro, which took over its rival last year in a reported five billion-dollar deal, is renovating a 100,000 square foot Cabela’s store in Rogers, bringing together under one roof for the first time both iconic brands and Tracker Boats. It is the first significant retail upgrade since the merger and represents a clear indication of what customers can expect of the joint venture in future.
Changes will be apparent from the outset as the new exterior signage will prominently highlight Bass Pro Shops, a leader in fishing, alongside Cabela’s, a leader in hunting, and TRACKER, a major producer of fishing boats.
“Rogers, Arkansas, and the surrounding area is one of the best regions in the country for fishing, hunting and outdoor recreation,” said Bass Pro Shops founder, Johnny Morris. ” We are very excited to unite these iconic American brands to better serve the area’s many outdoor enthusiasts. Our vision is to create a ‘best-of-the-best’ shopping experience that includes outstanding customer service and exceptional value that our customers have come to expect. At our newly expanded location the best of Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s and Tracker Boats can be seen under one roof.”
Inside, an all-new Tracker Boats Center will feature its industry-leading brands, including Tracker, Nitro, Ranger, Sun Tracker, Regency and Tahoe, will greet customers in a prominent location at the front of the store, doubling the existing space allocated for boats.
Bass Pro Shops said that it is increasing the freshwater fishing footprint by 85% to reflect the location’s proximity to some of the finest fishing in the country.
The renovations will start this month and the store will remain open as the improvements take place.
