The confirmation of Larry Barrett as President and CEO of Far Bank Enterprises ensures continuity for the holding company’s prestigious trio of fly fishing brands.
Barrett has been with Far Bank since 2005 and has been in the top role on an interim basis since January following the departure of Travis Campbell to outdoor company Smartwool.
An American Fly Fishing Trade Association (AFFTA) Board member for six years and previously Vice President of Operations for the Washington manufacturer, he takes responsibility for Sage, Redington and RIO Products.
Endorsing the long-term appointment, Stanley McCammon, CEO of Far Bank’s parent company, the Joshua Green Corporation, said Barrett’s deep knowledge of the company’s culture, his understanding of the business and his man management skills were influential in the Board’s decision.
McCammon revealed that the Board talked to others about the position, but concluded unanimously that Barrett was the prime candidate.
“While we have to constantly modernise and adapt, we need to use all our expertise to enable our retailers to spend more quality time with customers.” said Barrett, who studied mechanical engineering and spent eight years at Amazon prior to joining Far Bank.
