German fishing manufacturer and wholesaler, Balzer, has teamed up with the American industrial giant, Honeywell, to develop a ‘superlative’ range of braided lines.

The company describes the alliance between Honeywell and its team of angling experts as groundbreaking’ It says: “There is no universal line for all types of fishing. Sea fishing lines must be extremely resistant to abrasion, a spinning line should be supple and clearly visible, carp lines should sink well and be very abrasion resistant, while the best feeder lines are inconspicuous and smooth

“Only a company like Honeywell, in conjunction with Balzer – a modern braiding company – are in a position to produce a ‘superlative’ new range of braided lines for each discipline of fishing.”

The lines are made from original American-made Spectra™ polyethylene strands (PE). The fibres are spun to form strands, braided eight times over, and sealed with three coats of Teflon®.

Balzer adds: “The result is an extremely rounded series of lines with an ultra-smooth surface – similar to a monofilament – which shoots silently through the guides.”

Stand-out features include:

  • 8-fold braiding;
  • 100% Spectra™;
  • Sealed with three coatings of Teflon®;
  • High linear load-bearing strength;
  • High knot strength;
  • Smooth surface; slides through the guides;
  • Less than 1% stretch;
  • Abrasion resistant;
  • Nil memory;
  • UV protected;
  • Stretched pre-heating.

There are seven models in the range in different colours, diameters and lengths.
