Bagley Baits widens global sales reach

US lure brand, Bagley Baits, has continued its worldwide expansion with the appointment of distributors in Australia and South Korea.

It has agreed deal with Tackle Tactics, a lure-focused distributor that has been servicing shops in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands for more than a decade, and the Kosinger Company, which is based just outside the South Korean capital of Seoul.

Tackle Tactics will take the Bagley brand into its 2016 range of product offerings as it continues to increase its arsenal of freshwater products.

“We see a gap in the market to deliver a brand like Bagley that offers dynamic top quality products which will excite Aussie anglers,” said Tackle Tactics Managing Director, Gareth Williams. “Bagley fits our distribution channel perfectly as we service every retailer in the region and they are all begging for quality, innovative lures for their customers. I believe Bagley will become a favourite brand for Australian anglers.”

Tackle Tactics currently distributes TT Lures, Z-Man and Pro Cure.

Don Hultstrand, President of Bagley Baits, said: “Already Gareth and his experienced team of pro anglers are working with us on products specific to the region and we look forward to building business together.”

A fishing products dealer, distributor and e-commerce seller, Kosigner services shops and on-line sales throughout Korea. And with a growing freshwater market – particularly in bass fishing – Hyun wook Park, General Manager of Kosigner, believes Bagley will be a big hit in his country, especially among the increasing army of young anglers.

“We are very active in exposing a younger generation here to the best products and techniques to use,” he said. “Sport fishing is well established here with seven million participants – and growing. Our arrangement with Bagley matches our desire to bring valued and quality products to the market.”

Hultstrand added: “Korea holds great promise as a bass fishing market. Hyun wook and his team are young and aggressive in establishing their business there. They are at the forefront of working with the grassroots of fishing through the formation of clubs, the organisation of testing events and social media outreach.

“We are pleased to be working with them to help grow their business along with the Bagley brand in Korea.”

Bagley currently exports its products to more than nine countries across the world, including Russia, Spain, Japan, Kuwait, the UK, South Africa and Mexico.

“We are looking for additional partnerships, particularly in Europe, Scandinavia and South America, but it has to be the right fit for us in terms of commitment to supporting and growing sales and in marketing the brand in the region.”
