With falling temperatures, snowy conditions and icy weather just around the corner in the northern hemisphere, Korkers has released a new range of waterproof, breathable and insulated winter boots.
They incorporate the US company’s award-winning OmniTrax Interchangeable Sole System that allows a carbon metal studded outsole or rugged rubber outsole to be snapped into place, depending on conditions.
The new line comprises the IceJack, the SnowJack and the StormJack, all of which also incorporate 3M Thinsulate insulation to provide warmth without unnecessary bulk. Korkers also insists that the boots completely eliminate the possibility of wet feet.
Says Korkers CEO Sean Beers: “The last thing consumers need is just another winter boot, so we’re offering something completely unique, a boot that maintains footing on ice. Some footwear companies think aggressive rubber treads will stand up on a sheet of ice. Not true. Metal studs are necessary, that’s why they are used on car tyres.”
The Korkers interchangeable system was demonstrated at this year’s International Fly Tackle Dealer Show (IFTD) in New Orleans, where the Korkers Metalhead Wading Boot won the Eco-Friendly Product Award. The system means outsoles can be changed without the help of a tool and even while standing in the boots.
