Ultimate Fishing is a long-time exhibitor at EFTTEX, but this year’s show promises to be something special for the French distributor of lures and rods.
The news of its partnership with A Band of Anglers – the new company launched by lure fishing guru Patrick Sébile – was revealed exclusively by Angling International just a week ago.
And the first tackle from the US-based business will be on the Ultimate Fishing booth (E44) when EFTTEX opens in the RAI Centre, Amsterdam, on Thursday. Both Patrick Sébile and Ultimate Fishing owner Yannick Cordier will be at the show.
Cordier, who established his company 17 years ago, said the collaboration would work for both parties, but that the real winners would be the anglers who see, buy and use the new products.
“I’ve seen Patrick’s tackle boxes and they are overflowing with innovative new lures and gear that will help everyone catch more fish and have a better experience on the water. I’m extremely impressed and we are excited to be part of it.”
The deal was signed while Cordier and Sébile were fishing together in the US and took effect from June 21st.
“This will be a great partnership,” said Sébile. “Our new line-up of tackle demands the best possible European distributor and we have that in Ultimate Fishing.
“Its attitude and commitment to the angler perfectly corresponds to the attitude and philosophy we have at A Band of Anglers.”
Sébile is the only person to sweep the best hard lure and best soft lure categories at ICAST, best hard lure, soft lure and metal lure at EFTTEX and best hard lure, soft lure and metal lure at AFTA – all in the same year. The French tackle designer has entered five products in the rods, lures and tools categories of the Best New Product Awards at this week’s EFTTEX.
