American Tackle acclaims ‘perfect match’ for distributor

Fast-growing American Tackle has described its distribution agreement with Scandinavian lure brand Wake Fishing as the ‘perfect match’ for the company.

The two parties announced the deal at EFTTEX last week in a move that sees Wake’s highly acclaimed lures being sold across the US by the Florida-based company.

Darrin Heim, Partner at American Tackle, told Angling International: “Wake Fishing ticks all the boxes for us. It is an award-winning lure brand that is renowned as an innovator and not a duplicator. Like us, it does things differently.

“The brand has exploded in Europe due to its innovation and ability to adapt. It is the perfect match for us.”

The agreement follows hard on the heels of American Tackle’s global distribution deal with JigSkinz® – exclusively revealed in the first issue of Angling International’s Amsterdam Report newsletter last week.

Wake Fishing Managing Director Jose Jaakkola said: “The US market has been a long-term goal for us, but now the time is right. I have known the American Tackle guys for quite a while and I am looking forward to working with them.

“To succeed in North America – the biggest market in the world – you need someone who knows the market thoroughly and American Tackle certainly fit into that category.”

Since bursting onto the fishing scene at EFTTEX in 2010 with its now famous Jigwobbler series, the Finnish company has continued to produce top quality baits for the world market.
