Alton Jones, a native of Texas, is among the favourites to win the 2018 Bassmaster Classic.
Not only did Jones win the event on this weekend’s venue, Lake Hartwell, ten years ago, he has 18 Bassmaster Classic appearances under his belt and is a six-time B.A.S.S. Elite tournament winner.
In the 2008 Classic, Jones fought back from a 10th place on the first day to triumph in the event with over 49lb.
Jones was fishing a prototype BOOYAH lure that is now known as the BOOYAH Pigskin Jig. Jones has earned $2m in his professional bass fishing career.
The 48th Bassmaster Classic returns to Greenville alongside the Bassmaster Classic Outdoor Expo in a year that marks the 50th anniversary of B.A.S.S.
