A team sponsored by AFW and HI-SEAS has won the largest pay-out in the history of a major tuna fishing tournament – $331,950.
Armed with line and tackle from the company, Team Reel Quest finished second overall in the Western Outdoor News Los Cabos Tuna Jackpot.
The team, which won the event in 2013, used HI-SEAS Grand Slam Braid, Grand Slam Blue Water line and Fluorocarbon Leader alongside AFW terminal tackle. In the line-up were Captain Tyson Valli, Brad Stevenson, Dick Lanfield and Bill Savage.
Tyson attributed his team’s success to the quality of the monster tuna-catching tackle. “HI-SEAS is stronger and more abrasion-resistant than any line and fluorocarbon I have used. When the fish are big and the stress is high, it stands up to the fight.”
Steve Miller, AFW/HI-SEAS Sales Director, said: “We are extremely excited about another great accomplishment by Tyson and Team Reel Quest. They are truly top notch. Watching how they work together fishing and the synergy between them is like no other.
“They put our products to the test day after day and continue to achieve great things. We couldn’t be happier with our partnership over the years and look forward to many more exciting years to come.”
