Top US tackle maker, AFW/HI-SEAS, has helped a team of tuna tournament fishermen become over $227,000 richer.
The four fishermen grabbed second place in the latest AFW/HI-SEAS-sponsored Cabo Tuna Jackpot Tournament using the company’s Grand Slam Blue Water line, HI-SEAS Fluorocarbon, Grand Slam Mono Leader, HI-SEAS lures and AFW terminal tackle and 49 Strand Wire.
Representing Team Maybe Manayana, the fishermen – Captain Brad Stevenson (of Glenview, II), William Lewis (Eugene, Ore), Scott Lewis (Cottage Grove, Ore) and Jesus Trejo (Cabo San Lucas) – boated the second largest tuna of the competition which bumped the scales to 198lb.
AFW/HI-SEAS has been among the sponsors of the Mexican-based tournament for the last three years. The latest event – the 16th in the competition’s history – attracted over 140 boats and was won by Team AMZ, which landed the biggest fish, a 210lb yellowfin.
