Abu Garcia joins Berkley as backer of Bassmaster Classic

Abu Garcia has joined its Pure Fishing stablemate, Berkley, as a premier sponsor of the Bassmaster Classic.
Berkley is renewing its association with the organiser of the ‘Superbowl of bass fishing’, B.A.S.S., while Abu Garcia is joining the line-up of backers. “These two iconic brands are highly respected by more than 500,000 of our members as well as millions of fans who follow the events in person, online or on television through ESPN2,” said Bruce Akin, CEO of B.A.S.S.
“Their sponsorship of the most prestigious bass fishing event in the world makes the statement that both Berkley and Abu Garcia are dedicated to serving the most demanding anglers in the sport.”
Berkley has been a premier sponsor of B.A.S.S. events since 2002, while Abu Garcia is stepping up to premier sponsorship level for the first time this year.

According to the multi-year agreement, Berkley and Abu Garcia will be listed as premier sponsors of the Bassmaster Classic, Bassmaster Elite Series, Bassmaster Opens Series, B.A.S.S. Nation Series, Bassmaster Team Championship, Bassmaster College Series and Bassmaster High School Series.
The 48th GEICO Bassmaster Classic, presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods. takes place between March 16th and 18th on Lake Hartwell, South Carolina.
